Well the first week of school is underway and we are hitting the ground running. We covered an introduction to the periodic table this week and talk a little bit about what elements are. Below is a video that I have asked the students to watch. I want them to answer the following questions as homework:
1. What are groups in the periodic table and what are the names of a few.
2. What are periods in the periodic table?
3. What is something new that you learned about the periodic table from watching this video?
Feel free to watch this video alongside your student!

Hello again parents! I just wanted to take a quick minute to highlight a few policies that I have in my classroom.
Classroom Policies
1. Always treat both your teacher and fellow classmates with respect. Do on to others as you would have them do onto you.
2. There will be no food or drink in my classroom. The only exception to this rule is water bottles on days that we do not have lab.
3. If I see a cellphone, it is mine. You will receive it back at the end of class.
4. Closed-toe shoes are REQUIRED on lab days. There are no exceptions to this rule. This is a Colorado State Law.
5. I take cheating very seriously. If you are caught cheating you will receive a zero and be report as an academic integrity violator.
Homework Policies
1. Homework will be due by the beginning of class time on their respective due date. Extenuating circumstances will be taken into account if need be.
2. Late assignments will be accepted, but you will loose 10% off of the final grade for everyday that it is late.
3. As stated in classroom policies, cheating will not be tolerated.
We will be covering these policies in class this week and I will expect my students to know them. This is obviously not an all encompassing list, but there are obviously things that are common sense that need not be mentioned. I believe that there are times for grace when enforcing these policies. I will treat your students as I would want to be treated just as I have asked them to treat me and their fellow students.
Welcome!
